What is a DIN Rail Power Supply?


DIN Rail Power Supplies are simply Power Supplies which are attached to DIN Rail. DIN rail, short for "Deutsches Institut für Normung" (German Institute for Standardization) rail, is a standardised metal rail used for mounting various devices within equipment racks or enclosures. The standard sizes include DIN rail profiles such as DIN EN 60715, which is commonly referred to as the "top hat" rail.


What is a DIN Rail Power Supply Used For?


DIN Rail Power Supplies are mainly used in Industrial and Automation where other components are mounted along side the PSU. The use of DIN rail simplifies the installation and maintenance of industrial control systems by providing a modular and organised way to mount and connect various components in a control panel or enclosure.
