Linear Power Supplies are far less common than Switch Mode Power Supplies. This is partially due to the much lower production costs of the latter, but also Linear units are bulkier and heavier too.

In general the type of Linear unit which we would be concerned with would be Linear Regulated PSUs, this is because if the output is not regulated it will change with the size of load and input variations

The one major benefit of using a Linear is the much lower ripple and noise in the output DC. This is specifically beneficial where the load is sensitive to noise, such as scientific and audio applications

If you require a Linear Power Supply then please get in touch as we can source units from a variety of manufacturers and only display a small proportion of units here.
